Lake Calima, an artificial reservoir and nature reserve, is one of the most important tourist destinations in southwestern Colombia. It was officially inaugurated on July 30, 1966. Its construction, completed more than 50 years ago, was primarily intended to generate hydroelectric power, serving as a crucial supply system for the region. Today, thanks to its favorable climate, landscapes, and accommodation options, it has become a popular meeting point for families to relax and for tourists to enjoy.

Buga is a bird paradise. It is strategically located in the center of the Valle del Cauca department, Colombia, near the central mountain range and bathed by various rivers such as the Piedras or Guadalajara de Buga, the Sonso, and the most important, the Cauca River. This location allows for the existence of several forest reserves that have made it an important destination for birdwatching, particularly in the Laguna de Sonso natural parks, the El Vínculo Regional Natural Park, and the Bosque de Yotoco Natural Park, which are home to a wide variety of species, including resident and migratory birds. These natural parks are located less than 30 minutes from Buga's city center.

This tour requires extended hours. It departs from Buga in the morning and returns to Buga in the early hours.
